Michele has nearly 45 years of experience as a health actuary and benefits consultant advising health and welfare plans for active workers, retirees and disabled participants.
Her experience includes evaluating claims and utilization experience, forecasting costs under alternative plan designs, analyzing the impact of regulatory and legislative changes, and evaluating vendors, pharmacy benefit managers and insurance carriers. She calculates incurred but not reported or IBNR reserves.
She completes actuarial reserve determinations including incurred but not reported claims and retiree medical and other benefit obligations in accordance with applicable accounting and actuarial standards.
She heads Cheiron’s internal training committee and organizes regular training programs for new actuaries.
She speaks frequently at the annual conference of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
She is known for her unflagging energy and enthusiasm in helping clients achieve their goals.
She joined Cheiron in April 2011.
She is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
