Joshua has more than 19 years of experience advising multiemployer pension plans from regional plans to multibillion dollar funds across different industries.
His experience includes producing actuarial valuations, experience studies, benefit calculators, and helping boards of trustees evaluate plan designs and maintain a balance between benefit security, benefit levels, and stable contributions. He is advising financially troubled plans on regaining financial stability under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, and implementing variable benefit plan designs.
He often speaks at annual industry conferences, such as those of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
He enjoys analyzing complex problems and presenting the pros and cons of possible solutions in plain English to plan trustees and staff, helping them make the best decisions for all stakeholders.
Before joining Cheiron in 2011, he was a Consulting Actuary at Milliman where he advised public and Taft-Hartley plans.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, the highest professional accreditation, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
