Joshua has more than 21 years of experience advising multiemployer pension plans from regional plans to multibillion dollar funds across different industries.
His experience includes producing actuarial valuations, experience studies, benefit calculators and Withdrawal Liability calculations. He advises boards of trustees on paths to balance benefit security, benefit levels, and stable contributions. He helps boards establish funding and benefit policies for traditional defined benefit plans, implement and maintain variable defined benefit plans, and handle multiple mergers concurrently.
He often speaks at annual industry conferences, such as those of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
He enjoys analyzing complex problems and presenting the pros and cons of possible solutions in plain English to plan trustees and staff, helping them make the best decisions for all stakeholders.
Before joining Cheiron in 2011, he was a Consulting Actuary at Milliman where he advised public and Taft-Hartley plans.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, the highest professional accreditation, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, and a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries.
