Michael has more than four decades of experience as an actuarial consultant primarily advising public pension plans.
He performs internal audits and reviews of all public sector and multiemployer pension work at Cheiron. In that role, he conducts independent validations of liability and asset valuation results. He is also a key member of Cheiron teams that audit the work of other consulting firms.
He also reviews valuation assumptions and methods for compliance with applicable actuarial and GASB standards along with written evaluations of compliance with Cheiron’s internal quality control guidelines.
His vast experience with public and Taft-Hartley pension plans makes him a valuable resource for independent internal audits of the firm’s actuarial valuations and as a go-to technical expert for questions about complex issues.
He joined Cheiron in July 2011.
He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries, an Enrolled Actuary under ERISA, a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries, and a Fellow of the Conference of Consulting Actuaries.
